Planet found at Alpha Centauri!!!
« on: October 16, 2012, 04:21:08 PM »
No joke, they have just recently found one there.

http://www.space.com/18089-earth-size-alien-planet-alpha-centauri.html

It's not habitable though and would resemble a semi-molten Mercury more than anything, but this leaves open the possibility of a habitable planet there.

ALPHA CENTAURI OR BUST! YEAHOO!

I  remember that Javiera Guedes 2008 published in the Astrophysical Journal the results of simulations ( using the softwares Mercury and Systemic) which indicated that Alpha Centauri B could offer conditions to the formation of a planet with a mass similar to Earth in its orbit. After publication of the article of the discover of a planet around α Cen B in NATURE we can check if their predictions corresponded to reality:

It would be awesome if both Alpha Centauri A and B have habitable planets.

Yeah, but we dont have any lightrockets yet. (rockets made of light and go as fast and can carry you)

The journal NATURE published today the article of the discovery of Alpha Centauri Bb. The full lecture (and download) it is available:

Sorry, but I don't agree.

I believe this recent discovery is actually a cover of an old manned mission that accidentally landing on a planet of Alpha Centauri system.

A recently leaked secret video proves it:

The true is out there !   :D :D :D

Based on the little information about the orbital elements in the article of NATURE I created a simulation of orbiting Alpha Centauri Bb. The simulation file is attached.

uh, isn't Alpha Centauri like 4 light years away? So how could someone
1. Have enough food.
2. Have enough fuel.
3. Live long enough.
4. Why would they make it secret.
5. Is this a joke?

And traveling to Alpha Centauri at a speed of about 5,000 km/s would take around 80 years.

traveling about 4e+16m/s would take a bit less than a second.
