Hi Dan... I think your program is awesome and I think that your program idea has many more applications then just playing around in the universe.  You could build a 3D mind mapping app out of it that beats the pants off of many current ones, one of my biggest frustrations in mind mapping software currently is it's lack of "infinite" space and 3D objects/surfaces, etc.

Thats the mind mapping software I currently use but the way the it is designed doesn't allow for really deep and better mind maps that extend beyond its rather limited 2D capabilities and lack of arbitrary points on an object from which to draw lines.  I'd be honored if you'd be interested in a paid side project in your free time to do a basic prototype of a couple objects, to see what we could come up with.

That's where you're incorrect, all of his stuff is about geometry and rendering objects and surfaces so yes it has a tremendous amount of overlap.  Not to mention, it's all objects, interface widgest and rendered geometry. 

I don't think you're getting the point you can bind objects to a plane so that gravity can be shut off or maintained and fixed.  See: http://www.taggalaxy.com/

My point was he could transfer some of his skills and code and modify the app, since a 3D space allows for unprecedented zoom, navigation, and ridiculous amounts of space.

I can't say that I've thought about that before. Interesting idea.

My main focus right now is to get out the next release (by Oct 20th) and then begin working on the UI overhaul.

Regarding a paid side project, I've responded to you email.

In defense of BlackBolt, this program would indeed be poor at actual neuronal mapping. The capability for virtual geometry is kind of astounding, but basic interactions like excitation, inhibition, transmission, and threshold would take a great deal of effort to include...not that it's impossible.

As for weighted virtual information representation, the potential is certainly there. I've never personally used anything like PersonalBrain, but the idea is quite compelling. Who knows, maybe virtually mapping your day to day work and activities, even menial snacks, would help us get an idea for the wetworks.

You misread my post, I was talking about the brain the program, the mind mapping program, not the brain, as in neural networks.

Again it's simply mind mapping, there are a multitude of programs.  And a good implementation of mindmapping is IMHO the future, in fact all knowledge exists in networks of associations.  I do research on this kind of thing.  I'm working on a new theory of pedagogy, that involves reconceiving other men's misconceived concepts at the point of conceptualization (where they originally drew up the concept from the world).   The way a man or group or society conceives knowledge is only one of a multitude of ways to conceive a thing.  One thing I've noticed in my research is everyone is horrible at conceptualization in lots of ways.  Many concepts, ideas, ideologies are riddled with errors and mistakes that propagate throughout a culture.  Concepts are the lenses by which we see and interpret the world, improper concepts, improper understanding... therefore proper conceptualization is critical to thinking clearly, if you are not thinking with the right concepts, or even know the right ones, it will be impossible to understand what it is you're trying to understand, and this takes time.  Also one must recognize the fact that knowledge can be conceived and expressed in many ways, and this has enormous implications for teaching.
