Polygon art isn't necessarily crappy. I prefer it to your squigly lines map actually. And i drew it with the polygonal lasso tool in photoshop. I doubt you hand drew your thing either.

And even if you actually do, that does not necessarily make your map better or mine worse.

First of all more work =/= more time
i could be productive and eat 5 cookie in one second or spend an hour eating 2 cookies

and more time =/= more skill
i could scribble all day and i wouldn't draw anything looking good.

and more work =/= more skill
unskilled labor.

and none of those necessarily make your map good or better than mine.

This is an invalid analogy because you're linking skill to outcome. You're saying that the person who knows how to kill chickens and cook them is going to end up with a better product. This isn't necessarily the case.
Example: Either you can be 'skilled' and try to calculate pi to 100 digits, or you can use the internet, and find a million in a minute.

No, what I mean is that you could prebake those five cookies in the oven, or make them from scratch by using the egg beater, chocolate chips, and epicsause

Nope. If the guy drawing a pony eating poop is better than you artistically, and he is motivated to try, then he has drawn something better than you.

More work means you have the chance to get more skilled, it is often called "Practice makes perfect".

If you do the same thing badly over 100 times or 1 million times you do not become perfect. Also skill and perfection are not the same thing. Skill is when you can do something with minimum effort. Perfection is when you do something until there are absolutely no errors or faults

and none of those necessarily make your map good or better than mine.

I am aware of that, I just mean I put more work into my map and I should get some respect, unlike them fancy young kids using their fancy tools and premade boxes.

Believe it or not, it takes some effort to construct polygons of aesthetic value. Also, just because someone could do something faster than you does not mean they should not be respected and you should. Also polygons are not premade and your line, pencil, brush tool can be considered fancy.

None of these have set amounts and there is no measure for epic, so this must mean that epic is unquantifiable. Lets stop derailing this thread anymore. If you want to argue about the quantifiability of the adjective 'epic', start another thread.
