tbh I think trying to fit realistic tectonics into universalis is a nightmare and we shouldn't try since nobody has realistic geology. Absolutely none of us do. Even Aeridani is unrealistic geologically. Though we can strive for realism in other areas, such as history and climate, which is what I have been doing for the most part.

I was hoping for a rail and bike bridge (or tunnel) between Blaist Blaland and Darvincia so our continents would be connected without having to use stupid, ugly ships.
I tried estimating some distances that would be roughly the shortest routes for that, but it appears they would be very long.

Some of the longest bridges - up to 165 km, but over water only up to around 42 km

The Channel Tunnel is 50.5 km and Seikan Tunnel is 54 km for reference

Based on this I'm not sure how realistic a bridge or tunnel would be. Since they would probably be the only connection between two large continents, there might be reason to fund something that big - the continents are many times bigger than e.g. Great Britain or northern Japan. But when the Amalthean countries aren't very rich or populous, that would probably be a reason against.



Another thing to investigate is how bridge/tunnel costs scale with length

From that it doesn't look like the costs increase exponentially or something so it might be realistic.

I didn't make it kol yes it looks pretty horrible but finding something on tunnel cost scaling was a bit hard.

Anyway, Dar, Kalassak think we should have the links exist as tunnels with maglev rails + bike lane? (A + C)

This is just meant as a request for anything that is the product of whatever method of determining the climate that people wanted the project to use.
I've worked on some city/rail maps and I'm interested in making population density and some historical maps so I need to know the climates, otherwise the maps won't make sense.

It's for a story that's in development. It's basically three characters' travels towards the capital city of Lizabechai from their respective locations, where they will meet up with a character (Navasa) one-by-one, although they all don't know this.

I might add a few more characters from other nations in the future, possibly. Two are "Bielosian", one is Aeridanish, and the other is Darvincian.

This is a little known mathematics school located in the northern part of kallisto.



The dimensions of the campus is 1 km by 1 km. Each of the buildings has a 200 m by 200 m foundation. The outer eight residential buildings are 200 m in height and the inner four academic buildings are 400 m in height. The four corners are each 200 m by 200 m forested parks. With few exceptions, the walls, floors, and ceilings of every building is made of reinforced glass, affording plentiful sunlight and little privacy.



The school is surrounded by a high wall (not shown). Food and utilities are brought in from a nearby city. Nearly one million mathematicians study at this school. To enter, citizens must pass a series of rigorous examinations. Citizens normally enter the school at the age of twelve and spend the first decade or so learning, before they are mature enough to start contributing. They spend the rest of their lives inside the square kilometer. No one leaves alive. However, the quality of life inside is relatively high and free of worldly concerns.



Although mathematicians are under the impression that they are free to work on whatever they want, a little inspection will reveal that the Director is behind the scenes, intricately coordinating the powerful intellectual engine through the use of subtle subliminal messages and by lacing the water with mind-control substances. It is said that they are close, yes, very close, to finding the One Theorem To Rule Them All.
