August Update Now Available

The latest update of Universe Sandbox is now available.
v 1.0.351.0

Major Changes
- Two new Fun Things to Do (activities).
- More than fifteen new systems.
- 3D grid and control of the particle count.
- Added projected paths feature (In view controls).
- Added Name field to Body properties & New Bodies. (You can now rename moons & planets.)
- Added simple move command for bodies.
- Constellations (just two in this update)
- Added a 'stoplight' marker next to time step that turns red when time step is too high.
- Added more bodies to the New Bodies preset list.
- New background - Stars without the Milky Way.

Notable Changes
- Added adjustable settings for 3D modes.
- Added two additional 3D modes (DLP & Cross Eye).
- Improved camera positioning in 3D modes
- Enter key now opens the control panel.
- Made progress on an upcoming feature. :)
- New starting time for Lagrangian Points.
- Better support for low end video cards.
- Added new tags for System XML files: author, decription, tags, etc.
- Changed 2005 FY9 to Makemake; new minor planet.
- Settings (on the Settings page) now save on exit.
- Added ability to disable mousewheel.
- Added support for user added Horizon data.
- Menu page loading indicator.
- And other minor fixes and adjustments.

The update is fantastic!

I love it.

a lot of great ideas and additions!    :)

Thanks for doing the 3D glasses adjustment.....it worked great for me.

I'm curious what you adjusted the 3D settings to that made it work better. Perhaps I could add a few default presets for others.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Please let me know if there are other settings or features that you'd like to see.

Critic: (Yes you have one.) I suggest you followed the theory of reletivity correct? because the black holes are unrealistic as heck.......

I like critics... Without criticism and suggestions there would be no improvement or growth.

Universe Sandbox doesn't consider the Einstein's theory of relativity... just Newtons' law of gravitation.

I'm working to make Universe Sandbox more realistic... Turns out that creating the tools of Universe manipulation is a time consuming process. :)

well: i've got one :p when I start a second universe on the same run I can't move my camera! I don't have this a lot, although it's still too much to be annoying!

I've never seen that... Can you reproduce this behavior? What steps cause this? Let me know so I can fix it. :)
