Hypercane
« on: July 01, 2009, 12:29:36 AM »
A hypercane is a hypothetical class of extreme tropical cyclone that could form if ocean temperatures reached around 50 °C (122 °F), 15 °C higher than the warmest ocean temperature ever recorded.

That's awesome. It would be cool if two hurricanes  collide like galaxies!

Hypercanes would have wind speeds of over 800 kilometres per hour (500 mph) and would also have a central pressure of less than 70 kilopascals (21 inHg), giving them an enormous lifespan.

It would damage Earth's ozone because the hypercanes may form in the stratosphere.
