When I loaded up my steam version of Universe Sandbox all the models(IE: Sun asteroids etc) look like big blocks.

You need to make sure that your graphics card is in its default setting. Or your graphics adapter may just be really outdated.

i'm pretty sure he means, when you have a simulation open, and you zoom way out, the circular objects turn into square looking shapes
its not a bug, just happens because the pixels make the circle look like a square, shouldn't be any fix for this

Well in that case there is no issue, though i do agree that it looks a bit odd.

it does but the alternative is a shape like

a + instead of a []

and the box shape is mathmatically more like a circle
