Better collision
« on: July 11, 2011, 02:43:27 PM »
I was messing with the bouncing moon sim and realized that is i place a large body a distance away form the moons, the moons will collide with that body. some will stick to the surface but some will orbit it. this is much cooler than how collisions are normally simulated but I would still like the body's to merge. perhaps each time the body's collide, they transfer mass? This would cause the body's in contact with the large body to be absorbed and still allow for some orbital body's to form.
Any further thoughts?

That's a good idea. I'm am planning improvements to the collision features in a future update.

Can you add your idea here?

Its called combine mode, or is it that it bounces off the large planet then bounces into an orbit?

They're looking for a hybrid mode of combine and bounce.
