It's still 2/16 where I am. :)

Did it work for you?

I like how if my FPS is getting low it lowered my trails.  Probably not new but I just noticed it.

Nothing for me has broke so far though.

I will have to say after playing with Rings that I liked the old way better. The more you clicked the button the the more dust you got for the ring.

Sounds cool! Downloading the release candidate now

I just noticed... "Thank you for buying a key" is a button. wut

I has a problem. The random texture thing just counts up, it isn't "random".

Dan, you should add an overwrite feature, it'd be better than trying to come up with a new name for my system.

When it tries to open , the program just exits out by itself.

The random texture feature is awesome as a concept, even though the current textures are simple and repetive. Some of them still look fine if a color is applied to the planet. I hope this feature will be improved.

One thing I'd like to see would be an option to save the textures which are generated... Or is that possible already? I saw their names going up like texture1.png, texture2.png and so on (or a similar name), but they weren't in the media folder afterwards (which would also be excessive probably, but an option to save the nice ones of them into the folder would be nice).

So far it works perfectly.

Apparently my connection to the Internet is laggy, since half the time I have to restart Universe Sandbox to apply any updates.

They were in my Media folder. It's a different one I think. It only contains those textures.

This is problem with the update system that I've seen happen a few times.

Here how to solve it:

I like how if my FPS is getting low it lowered my trails.  Probably not new but I just noticed it.

That was new a few updates ago. I'm glad you like it. I found that I was always adjusting trail lengths and thought about how I could automate it so I could stop thinking about it. :)

I will have to say after playing with Rings that I liked the old way better. The more you clicked the button the the more dust you got for the ring.

You can click on the button "Add New Ring" (on the properties panel) to get the same effect.

I just noticed... "Thank you for buying a key" is a button. wut

It's been like that since version 1. :)

I has a problem. The random texture thing just counts up, it isn't "random".
Dan, you should add an overwrite feature, it'd be better than trying to come up with a new name for my system.

It randomly selected between 5 or 4 different texture options (that are all slightly different). It's still new and experimental and more options will be coming in future updates.

Are you sure? They should be saved in the user Media folder. Hit the folder icon to open that folder.

Apparently my connection to the Internet is laggy, since half the time I have to restart Universe Sandbox to apply any updates.

Did it ever work?

Yes, I have 2.0.15 now. The random texture is apparently only grayscale?

Not if you turn on the Tint option.

I noticed.. it makes new texture everytime you click random. It's going to fill up my Media folder soon.

Then the button should be "generate", and there should be one called "random" that selects a texture in your media folder.

I just noticed something.

What happens if there are no images to use in there?

Then all your planets look like moons.

Yes... the textures are being generated and manipulated using this:
http://www.aforgenet.com/framework/

This framework/library can do lots of things... more improvements to this in the future.

And the guy that made it, Andrew, is a really smart guy.

Then the button should be "generate", and there should be one called "random" that selects a texture in your media folder.

That's a good idea.

Did you see the other new feature that you requested? Starts with an A. Let me know what you think of that. It's amusing that it took me years to add it since it was in 3rd gravity simulation from 2000:
http://dandixon.us/programming/planets.htm

(although I don't think this was for the planet, but for absolute space (which isn't how space actually works))

Not if you turn on the Tint option.

Exactly.

I just noticed... "Thank you for buying a key" is a button. wut

It's kinda weird, I agree. It's an old relic that I haven't taken the time to adjust or improve.

Aha, I looked in the Media folder in the folder which the program was installed in.

Again, I just noticed you can change textures of stars (yeah, I'm slow). Looks good with Celestia star textures.
