I downloaded the server software today. It's just a huge mess to set up a server. I did manage to log into a world on my "server", but I don't know how to open ports on my router, and I don't think I know how to make it so that my IP doesn't change either. Bla you have to contact your ISP. That or if you know "local IP". One of the 3 or 4 should take you to your options and you can add a port.

I e-mailed my ISP a week ago or so I think, and they still haven't responded. I hate contacting other people. But I found some software which should be able to open the port Minecraft servers use by default... If they had my router listed, and if I knew where the box or manual were so I could know it's model name for sure. But even then I still might not be able to host it if my IP changes.

It'll just be under a new IP, no new ports needed

Remember gold ore are pretty much useless, because their strength is like a wooden one, but is fast like the iron pickaxe

Weren't gold items changed so that they had low durability, but were extremely fast or something in beta? I haven't tried making gold items yet, but I think I read that.

meh. What can Lapis do?

I'm gonna get Lapis walls and gold floors.

Right now my house is: Budget style (part natural/part custom) I'm trying to get it Economy style (kinda "expensive" with sandstone floors and cobblestone walls)

Lapis is a dye, right click it on a sheep. Now its a blue sheep. Punch it to get blue wool.

Hmm, I think I've configured it in my Firewall program, but I'm not sure if I've been able to open it from there. Maybe I can test it another day.

I found a mineral deposit about 1 level up from bedrock... 2 lapis ore, 8 gold ore, 6 redstone ore. lol not far from there... 20+ coal and 11 iron ore
