real stuff - Telescopes
« on: December 17, 2008, 12:41:20 PM »
well, I've purchased a telescope, very cheap stuff, but I want to know, what is a barlow lens, erecting eye, and all the other stuff that you get with a telescope (I'm just scratching the head all the time XD)

I'm no expert on telescopes... But Wikipedia and Google are your friend. :)

Barlow Lens

Erecting Lens

You might also check out telescope specific forums:

http://www.telescopejunkies.com/
http://www.cloudynights.com/ubbthreads/postlist.php/Cat/0/Board/beginners
http://forums.astronomydaily.com/index.php

(and I'm not endorsing any of these sites, I just found them with the Google search 'telescope forum')

And here's are sites about telescopes for beginners:

http://www.rocketroberts.com/astro/first.htm
http://www.scopereviews.com/begin.html

(found with the search 'telescope beginners')
