Doubt about the rotation of galaxies.
« on: May 03, 2010, 03:07:43 PM »
Dan,

I'm trying to simulate galaxy collisions to create a ring galaxies, for this I do with a small galaxy collides with the nucleus of a larger galaxy. To accomplish this I must rotate one of the galaxies in order to realize a collision directly in the nucleus. But after saving the simulation, just before impact, the information of the rotation is lost and when I restart the simulation the disks of galaxies are again aligned in the same plane so the collision is sideway.

Is there some setting that can be done directly in the xml file in order to preserve the information of the rotation of the target galaxy ?

I don't think so. Dan would know more than I do though.
