How do I change the default integrator?
« on: November 18, 2014, 11:14:29 AM »
Hello.

Because I tend to simulate more extreme systems (breakups of planets around white dwarfs, etc.), I usually have to change the default integrator (to RK4) and the default accuracy (to 0.5). It's a bit of a pain to change this every time I load a simulation or create an empty simulation. Is there some config file I can edit so that these will be selected by default?

Currently the setting is under: Sim Settings (gear on left side of screen) > then click on the + next to Gravity to expand the options.

Integrator options are there.

Although this will likely get moved in a future version to Settings.

We'll be improving the auto accuracy settings for sure... so setting it to 0.5 might not be necessary... and will consider a way to handle the situation you describe.
