How did you get into pixel mode?

I saw in a livestream that he went into a sort of "pixel mode" shader. How did he do that?

Currently Retro mode (the pixel look) is under:
Home > Settings > Video > Render Mode

But in the future it will likely be moved somewhere the View properties...

Thanks!

I have an idea... What if the pixels were actually in the simulation instead of just making the resolution low? What if the planets and fragments and fires were made of cubes? It's probably extremely hard to do that though...

Interesting idea... but a radical departure from how the current simulation is structured... so it would not be trivial or easy to do that.

Now I don't know a lot about SPH but from what i've seen in videos and read from wikipedia it's a sort of system that uses particles to simulate fluids or explosions and stuff like that right? What if (When you add SPH) you just changed the particles to a cube shape, and the physics would just play out by itself with the new cube shape? Obviously this would be a "Retro Mode" option.

If im entirely wrong, just know that I'm 13, and not an expert with this stuff, lol. If Im wrong, tell me

This is all correct, but since US2 particle are actually in Zeroth Dimension, changing them to cube shape wouldn't necessarily be an option here.

Now, if GA somehow overwrites their system to make this possible, I'm not sure about that "Retro Mode" selection. I think it's best to have separate mode columns for Objects and View.

Yeah you're right. They should focus on making SPH actually WORK for now

Interesting idea... but given how SPH actually works, via pressures and densities... as it's for simulating fluids and gases... trying to make it simulate solid bodies doesn't really make sense.

Keep thinking though... it is a cool idea.
