USF Pope
« on: June 11, 2014, 09:39:14 PM »
There are 5 future cardinals, 7 cardinals in the curia, and one pope. The player who controls the most cardinals in the curia is the pope and wins one point per round.

If there is a tie in the curia and the current pope stays pope, or if the pope is not part of the tie, the controller of the oldest cardinal becomes the pope.

Every season, each player recieves a from 3 to 7 votes with which they can spend on any future cardinal in increments of 5. If there is a vacancy in the curia, one future cardinal becomes the new cardinal, and the player who spent the most votes on them now controls them. A new future random cardinal is entered.

New future cardinals are randomly selected and start with 20 to 30 votes for a randomly selected player.

Cardinals are randomly generated from 50 to 70 years of age and die with probability (2E-5)e^(1E-1) each year

You can save up votes, but after 50 votes, a player looses int(k*ln(v-50)) votes per turn where k is random from 0 to 2

1 turn = 1 season
4 turns = 1 year

post if interested.

ok how about usf pope ai -- everyone creates an algorithm to decide how to act.

(for example: "vote for the pope which i'm closest to controlling, but am not yet there", would be a valid algorithm)
