Aha! So that's all you want, eh? Do you even think about the poor souls who produce the game!? You are supposed to be a tester, not a player. You know, report bugs, suggest new features, etc. No? Never mind, you wouldn't understand IF you didn't care.

You really need to stop attacking other forum users for wanting to be in the alpha, its bad manners.

Back on topic great release, cant wait for the next alpha and what it adds.

Please refrain from attacking members, all this nonsense wasn't here until the alpha board showed up.

"Oh yeah, supernova remnants and planetary nebulae (sunlike mass star death) somehow broke this release."

Could you elaborate what you mean? Thanks.

The stars evolve and explode (or rather blink out of existence on the timescale you're going at) just fine, but I checked both stellar evolution sims and last time I remember, when the 10 solar mass star goes supernova, it left a supernova remnant, now it doesn't for some reason.

I noticed while running the flare grid sim to let the stars evolve (the largest one goes boom pretty quick) that they weren't leaving that placeholder image that sometimes gets left behind, so I checked the large mass stellar evolution and there wasn't a supernova remnant there either.

Maybe you guys took them out to be worked on or something, no idea.

I know this is an old post, but...

I can't help but noticing that rocky planets basically "bounce" off gas giants.

I'm not certain, but it's early May, so I guess we can expect some hints of the next alpha

Any expectations/hopes for features in Alpha 7? smmjames and I expect an accretion system, but that's about it. Dan mentioned editing component ratios of elements in bodies and major improvements in collisions(if they're like this now, tell my parents I love them if I see what collisions look like in the initial release)

Just to clarify, I never said I expected an accretion system (though it would be cool if they actually did put an experimential demo of one), I said I was going to make a planetary accretion system thing. I know as much as everybody else here, which is what Dan has said about the major improvements to the collision system.

I actually used a little bit modified version of DenisineD's method:

http://universesandbox.com/forum/index.php/topic,9303.0.html

Of course though, a LOT of leeway has to be made because of the timestep issue and the scale part is due to the limit of objects that your computer can simulate. I did an Alpha Centauri AB accretion simulation.

Not sure if the text file I used for the Alpha Centauri AB accretion system is still around somewhere, but given that much longer timescales are now possible while keeping orbits stable and theres the new collision system, the method will have to be adjusted.

I would love to be a alpha tester, because  I love space simulators!

Also, I think they were only choosing 50 maxiumum? Don't worry too much, there will be an open beta (or are they calling it an open alpha?) later this year.

Uh, I'm pretty sure it's free? Though if it's paid, hopefully it isn't much.
