"Dubbed SN 2002bj, the blast was witnessed in 2002 and originally classified as a common Type II supernova. These explosions are thought to occur when the dense iron core of a massive star collapses...."

ahh i've heard of them, its when white dwarfs gain enough mass to become supernova and they explode. there is also another type on new supernova called pair instability supernova. this happens when a star hundreds of solar masses photons get disintegrated into electrons and positrons. this robs the core of some of its outward pressure causing it to collapse the energy of the rebound vaporises the star, core and all.

Ive seen this at YouTube. Two white dwarfs collide and made the supernova, am I right?

Naru, Ia supernovae are when the dwarf star gets too much mass and explodes.

.Ia are when the same happens, but fractioanlly. Read the article.

Since white dwarfs can supernova, is it possible for the remaining matter to collapse and form new stars like in more massive ones?
And is it possible for our sun to go supernova when it becomes a white dwarf in billions of years.

Nope. Only if it could accrete matter from a binary partner.

The sun isn't massive enough to be a supernova. It will just form a nova.
