Gliese-876 system
« on: January 07, 2014, 01:54:31 AM »
Hi, new to the software, but I made a local star system from information on Wikipedia. It seems like a possible candidate for a habitable system if 876b has a sufficiently large moon to hold its own atmosphere. Here are two versions, one with a hypothetical Titan-like moon at the relevant sector, and one without.

The near-conjunction will happen regularly due to 1:2:4 orbital resonance observed in the actual system. Planets have been colored using the artist conceptions on wiki.

NB: it is not currently planar as I set the z-axis to face our solar system. Also, I can't seem to save the self-rotation of each body.
