darvincia started with 11 provinces in 1400 (basically the smallest power in europe), then expanded to 28 provinces in 1486 (3rd largest western european nation), and then in just 21 years it collapsed down into 2 provinces

holykol went from 7 to 12 then back to 5 and up to 11 again
