It works on chrome... Plus radar isn't exactly where it is. Radar gets a few thousand feet in the air.

I need a photometer... It will help me gauge the rain rate. :P

I see a light outside. I aim the photometer. I get a reading. The brighter the more rain. Get it? You know how rain reflects the light and stuff? If there was no rain... it'd be darker.

How to do something

1. Get a camera
2. Get plastic bag
3. Put camera in plastic sandwich bag thing
4. Run outside and place it so that it can see lightning (Brotip: use magnets for faster video)
5. Use ZoomBrowserEX or similar software to get single frames
6. You've just beat the WeatherCam Team (a.k.a. me) at getting lightning
7. ???
8. PROFT!!!!I
9. That's some messed up profit.

Or you could join the WeatherCam team (collaboration is good) Your camera would be WeatherCam B...  ;)

And then we can get lots of video, and then make a website like zooniverse, and use citizen science on thunderstorm cells. People would watch 30 second clips from our videos, and then they would have to mark lightning and thunder on the video (see http://solarstormwatch.com/ for examples). We'd then look it over and congratulate them on helping people study weather and stuff. You could also look for raindrop marks, and do rain counts.

It would test how accurate radar and lightning detectors are.

I'm not going to tell you because the part of the Valley that did not was probably a very small area of Tempe/Phoenix.
