.net framework 2.0 installing problems

evrytime i try and install .net 2.0 after it seems like it's finished, another window pops up called maintenence modeasking wether i want to repair or uninstall the program(which is wierd considering i just installed it) eny way, if i press repair it says this:


the following error occured during setup:

the patch package could not be opened. verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vender to verify that this is a valid wondows installer patch package.

and i have done this countless times now can someone plz help me

I've never heard of Maintenance mod? Anyone else?

- Is Maintenance Mod some 3rd party app that you've installed?
- Is Maintenance Mod listed in 'Add or Remove Programs'?

I'm assuming that Universe Sandbox isn't working because you don't have .NET installed.
- What happens if you don't click repair after installing .NET? Does Universe Sandbox work then?
- If you run the 'ClickOnce' installer it will automatically download and install the correct version of .NET. That might also be worth trying.

It's the 1st download link: "Install Universe Sandbox - Using Microsoft's ClickOnce Installer"

Download and run the file: setup.exe

actually no once i press the oneclick think it asks me too download the setup program which i do and i run the setup and about hlaf a minute later it asks me if i want to send an error report im confused cos i really want this game it looks awesome

Can you try to run Universe Sandbox again?

When you get the error report window... please type in your email address and a brief comment like ".net problem" so that I know it's you.

The error reports are extremely valuable and really help me figure out what's going on.

To fix this error:
dfsvc.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

1 - Open up this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
(just copy and paste this into an explorer window's address bar and Windows will change %userprofile% to the folder of the current user)

2 - Then delete this file:
UsrClass.dat
(you may have to have administrative privileges to do this - let me know if you can't delete the file)

3 - Restart your computer.

4 - Try running Universe Sandbox again.

And let me know if that worked.
