Kol haven't been checking up on updates for GIMP.

But Mudkipz, I recommend you explore GIMP a little if you can't find something, there are really a lot of tools. :P Here I use a brush which is a 2x2 square in GIMP 2.8.2. It took me less than 5 minutes to find.

Did you choose the "Pixel" brush instead of "Pixel (1x1) square" maybe?

universe sandbox isn't distorting it; the map projection is whacked up.

shouldn't the layers be for extra things like elevation and not for basic things? like internal should stay a layer but national borders should not be a separate layer.

um if the national borders were on the same layer as land/sea/coastline then you would have a fun time filling in the land to be a different color wouldn't you? exactly.

national: right-click -> merge down (onto coastline layer)
fill
export png
done

so hard

interesting, but couldn't you have a small autonomous spacecraft launched out of a mass driver at maybe 0.1C or something?

but that has nothing to do with the land borders kthx no one told you to merge them and now you can't unmerge them if you need to do such things great job!

^ why they were seperate layers in the first place

guide to properly distorting landmasses so they look normal:

first, split your landmass into horizontal slices. if you're north of 40 degrees latitude i suggest 3 or 4 sections. Make more sections nearer the poles

so like this:

-pole
| all section 1
-
| all section 2
|
-
|
| all section 3
|
-equator
etc.

then, you will need to know the y positions of the tops and bottoms of all your new slices/sections.

F=1024/sqrt(1024^2-d^2)

d is the distance from a point to the equator of the map.

you fine F and then

(guide tbc tommorow).

Since Darv was too lazy to do this the past... week or two...

Wow that took like 5 minutes. Also I unmerged the national borders!

Well except for over in Aeridaniland or whatever it is. I'm too lazy to bother.
