The amount of time that stuff despawns after death really needs to be changed. It's usually 5 minutes or so iirc (but the chunk shouldn't have been loaded the whole time anyways). I died again at the blue ink factory and respawned in Aahrus. Last time this happened I lost everything, however this time I decided to be much much quicker, timing at about 3 minutes. When I got there I had lost essentially everything...thankfully this time I was traveling light and the only thing that I noticed missing was some wood, 50 iron, a clock, a map of my region, a couple tools and a boat. Most of which I am ok replacing.

So, tomorrow Bla I am bugging you at maybe getting my enchanted sword and bow back...

Maybe do a bit of research first and see what plugins that help with preserving the stuff that gets dropped when you die? Theres many out there.

Also, the Halloween release is due out tomorrow maybe? I should get back into Blacraft, heh.

Or maybe the chest will end up under the lava? As I said a moment ago, see what plugins are out there.

Although maybe I'll take a look over at the Bukkit site and see what plugins of that type there are.

I thought it was slated to come out a bit before halloween, but I guess plans changed.

Anyways, looked around and found three possibilities:

Anyways, the despawn timer for your stuff only starts when you're within a certain range (not sure if you have to be within the chunk containing the items or within chunk loading distance), once you move out of the area, the timer resets.

Also, theres this one: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/selectivedeathdrops/ which sounds like a simpler version of Death Control without the extra stuff, however, it's really new.

Clearly not working as planned then.

No way Blue Bay is loaded when I'm alone on the server nearly 1300 blocks away from it. Even at the most liberal estimate I found that the closest you have to be to a chunk to get it to load is 270 blocks.

The spawn point was moved back into Spawntown, so I don't know if the ink factory is close enough to be within 250 blocks of the spawnpoint.

Also, yqt, are you dying because of falling off ledges? Press shift to keep yourself from falling off (sorry if you already know this, I don't know how much experience you have with minecraft).

I dunno how it happened, but I somehow managed to jump over a fence and fall into a big hole. Of course I did not mean to do this, and I was certain that the fence would stop me from falling.
