Let us rewrite this sentence:
I walked across the rusty bridge gazing into the beautiful river.

Across the rusty bridge, I walked, gazing into the beautiful river.

Gazing into the beautiful river, I walked across the rusty bridge.

Walking across the rusty bridge, I gazed into the beautiful river.

Into the beautiful river, I gazed, while walking across the rusty bridge.

I gazed into the beautiful river, while walking across the rusty bridge.

Which one do you like?

Now, we are going to rewrite this sentence:
I declare war against Denmark, France, and Germany, because they have attacked us for a non-apparent reason.

They have attacked us for a non-apparent reason; there I declare war against Denmark, France, and Germany.

Denmark, France, and Germany have attacked us for a non-apparent reason; therefore I declare war against the countries.

For a non-apparent reason, Denmark, France, and Germany have attacked us; therefore I declare war against the countries.

Having attacked us for a non-apparent reason, I declare war against Denmark, France and Germany.

Against Denmark, France, and Germany, I declare war, since they attacked us for a non-apparent reason.

I declare war against Denmark, France, and Germany, because they have attacked us for a non-apparent reason.

I doth declare battle against the scandalous Denmark, France, and Germany, for they, with nary an apparent reason, hath gone forth and attacked. A plague upon all your houses!

Now, let us rewrite this sentence:
I like pie, because pie is good.

Since pie is good, I like pie.

Pie is good, so I like pie.

I like pie, for pie is good.
