Universe Sandbox ² 2016 Roadmap
« on: January 27, 2016, 10:58:20 AM »
Happy New Year! As many of you know, 2015 was an exciting year for us.

A few highlights: Universe Sandbox ² got a whole lot faster thanks to multiple physics refactorings, it was made a lot prettier thanks to a new user interface and a slew of eye candy upgrades, and we released on Steam Early Access with extremely positive reviews which haven't stopped coming in.

The good news is that we don't plan on slowing down.

Check out our blog for our 2016 roadmap.

We’re committed to making Universe Sandbox ² better and better as we continue to create something that’s never been done before. We hope you’re as excited as we are about the future!

Let us know what you think.

Are there any plans to add volcanoes as local heat sources??

Will the mega-structures be destructable?

Any plans to increase the support for cinematics (cameras, replays, etc...)??

SPH??

I can finally represent my flagship destroying a planet with the laser and megastructures, I also imagine the total body fragmentation will set up a lot more epic scenarios.

I love the idea... no immediate plans.

Will the mega-structures be destructable?

Of course... wouldn't be worth doing otherwise. ;)

So much to do... so little time...

SPH??

Still on Thomas' long term list...

in the mega structure demonstration there was a massive ark/ring around the planet can we kick off those "legs" so it is disconnected to the Planet ? i once read Structures like this are impossible.

Kuat Drive Yards eh?

im not sure... its not impossible but i read that they are unstable and can fall out of formation.

Yes... you can destroy the 'legs'.

Yeah... it's using a material that's 10x stronger than anything currently known... and it's totally unstable. So impossible in reality, yes... but realistically simulatable in Universe Sandbox ².

How will SPH behave? Will the body's just be made out of particles with low resolution textures?
How will total fragmentation behave?
Also when will the shock wave from impacts "blow" away the clouds on planets will atmospheres?
