Terra Macrocosm Test Textures

this is the 1st 14 textures I put together last night specifically for USv2 (I don't know if they will work on v1).
really this is just a teaser to see how ppl on the forum respond, I will probably be making many more.
currently there is ONLY the textures, but I hope to be able to add planets and moons to the add tool menu in-game when I know how.

read the ReadMe provided for use of the Textures it is also posted below, you will need winrar or another compression program that can extract .rar files.
the Download link is at the bottom of this post, it's hosted at filefactory for the moment.

ABOUT THIS MOD:

This is my first texture pack for Universe Sandbox v2, it contains 14 planetary textures that need to be manually selected in-game.
In later versions I hope to be able to add all planets and moons to the "add tool" menus in-game there for requiring only installation
on the users behalf.
I literally but these together in about 4 hours last night, so I hope to make many more over the coming days and weeks.

Changed the pixel size of textures to 1440x720 down from 2048x1024 , and kept in .png fomat as .tga was large a file for the size.

INSTALLATION:
===============================================
Extract the Media folder into:
C:\Users\%User Name%\Documents\Universe Sandbox

To apply the textures they must be selected in-game by placing or selecting a planet, selecting "physical properties" at the top of the
planets detail list, and entering the texture name in the "texture" box under "Appearance".
see the textures list below for the texture names and designation, they are simply listed  "TerraTex 01 -14" for ease of changing.

the Media folder can alternatively be placed in:
C:\Program Files\Program Files\Universe Sandbox

or for steam users:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\universe sandbox

(not that there is anything wrong with Dan's Textures, but u'know, hi res is pwitttyyyy)

Nice. I like it.

I've errored on the side of more realistic, de-saturated colors, like it would be if you were really there.

But adding a "hollywood' switch to make the colors pop could be very cool.

I don't have any fancy Software Kits - how can we import your great stuff into our Uni Sand Package.

Wish I was clever like you -
Sometime ( and I am dreading it ) - I got to do ALL of the Systems we have Colonised in my S.F. Game -
2130's and Very Fast FTL.
There are 19 ( yes - Nineteen ) Colonised Systems - plus two more starting.
Some being giant Asteroid Belts, with several Bases, Shipyards, Mining Colonies on them - some with up to three Habitable Worlds on them. Some with Planets and up to three Asteroid Belts.
There are also 4 Systems which we have not Colonised - Yet.

Ummm... Yeah 7zip or winrar (free) will open it... Install instructions are in the readme file and in the code window in the 1st post. its pretty simple, will have lots of textures in the next release. This was just a test pack or beta pack.

in real life colors aren't so vivid as in many photos is what he's saying.

So redownload it and remove from list that is broken (using the right click)
then wait a little minute and if it is not and if has unknown format, redownload it and remove the list until if the error is gone.
