Polar Eruptions
« on: February 19, 2013, 08:10:28 PM »
I wanted to make a volcanic moon with a single jet going up. Well, soon. I need to fix the gaps.

But this is cool as well:

Better res:

Polar Eruptions - Skydrive

The Volcano Project

The "proper" settings are:

No Trails
No Name
Dust Multiplier: 0.4
New Lightning System: 1
Time: 1 min
Gravity: 0.06

If you want to get the lightning effects from where the particles spawn, you need to set the "Emit light" of the two center bodies inside the "cages" on and set the max. value (10). Tip: To see what you are selecting, just select all (ctrl+a) and you'll see where the center piece is.

After doing this you should get the exact same result as the videos. Don't forget to place the blank.x model in the Media folder, so the "cage" won't show up.

Oh, almost forgot. The upper cage got messed somehow and the jailed sometimes gets out, you are welcomed to fix it by playing with the .25 moon gravity moons, maybe setting a lower value.

Enjoy

Special model...  ::)

Youtube and it's re-encode "minecraft" quality...

Here on Skydrive the mpeg itself: Polar Eruptions - Zoom

I wonder what will happen if I redirect the dust up and set a higher gravity. :)
