Ok i've worked out a time system. The leapdays are complicated, but don't complain unless you've tried it yourself; it's harder than it looks.


Second: 0.729425 S.I. Seconds
Hectosec(ond): 100 Seconds; 72.9425 S.I Seconds
Dekil(osecond): 1e4 Seconds; 2 Hours, 1 Minute, 34.25 S.I. Seconds
Day: 1e5 Seconds; 729425 S.I. Seconds, 0.84424189148148... S.I. Days
Division: Monosia, Disia, Trisia, Tetrasia, Pentasia, Hexasia, Heptasia, Octosia; with 51, 51, 50, 50, 50, 50, 50, 50 days respectively
Year: 402.460999966 Days; 40246099.996572 Seconds
Year zero starts at Epoch. Years before have a - sign: -2,-1,0,1,2, etc.
Rules: Leapdays are always added on to end of Octosia, happening on average every 0.460999966 years. A Leapyear happens every even numbered year, except those divisible by 26, 1858, or 23990. Every 303951 years, a day is taken off of the end of Octosia. This allows for a time change of less than a Dekasecond for up to several billion years.
Epoch: UTC 00:00:00 January 4, 2012 (S.I. 1325635224 seconds from UTC epoch)

It's to keep the calender year synchronized with the astronomical and seasonal year.

idk, that seems like going a bit too far. you could keep the days unsynchronized with the years, because the position of the earth in space relative to the sun is not very useful in general, it wouldn't be a big loss. Or you could have the days in any particular year added to the end just as necessary and not need to work out a formula for leapdays

Hmmm, I guess I could switch to a system based on the speed of light, since the speed of light is always the same and it could be measured accurately anywhere. Stick with your primitive planetary-based timelines you silly fools >:D
one light second is about the distance of jupiter
one light millisecond is about 300km
one light microsecond is about .3km
one light nanosecond is about 30cm

Well speed is still m/s and on a scale of micrometers and larger speeds are "slower" because of the interactions with the particles.
