« on: December 25, 2015, 05:09:25 PM »
Hello and Merry Christmas to all!

I would like know something....when will brown dwarf have their habitable zone? (like we could see it...or planet getting heat from it (really close planet) + when will they emit light?

I see that they give light but it seem close by planets don t receive the Brown dwarf light :/

Brown dwarfs are failed stars, which means that they didn't have enough hydrogen to fully form into a star.
They can be hot or cool.
The coldest Brown dwarf I know of is ~ 87 degrees Fahrenheit.
Brown dwarfs probably don't emit light.
But some might, I'm unsure.

Well the (near lower mass stars) brown dwarf are hot enough to emit some lights...US2 represent it pretty well...except in the simulation planets around it (the ones who are in close orbit) don't receive any....wait i ll make a pic

here we have a brown dwarf....and a planet around the right corner of the planet...pretty close by but receiving light while the brown dwarf is 88.4 J mass and having a temperature of 2169 C
