Problem to generate a new simulation

Hello !

First congratulations by this excelent software !

I have a doubt:

I'm trying to create a simulation, this is the clouse encounter of the asteroid 2008BT18 on 07/15/2008.

I have taken as a model the XML file of the clouse encounter of the asteroid Apophis and modified the data to the values of 2008BT18:

I saved the file with a different name and tried to open it in My Systems, but the simulation is not listed.


What am I doing wrong?

This happened to me twice, and both of them were straight forward problems.
It will only recognise the file if you save it as an xml, not a txt document, which notepad will do automotically. This is fixed by simply putting .xml on the end of the filename.

Secondly, did you save it in 'copy of included systems' or something like that? Those are just backups of the system files and not the ones loaded by Universe Sandbox. The real directory is a strange one, so the easiest way to get to it is using the 2nd icon the that U.S should have placed on your desktop, and a systems folder is located in that. That's where you need to save it. Hope that helped.

You should save new system files under: My Documents/Universe Sandbox/Systems

Pete_G... Be careful. If you save new systems in the System folder where the program is installed you risk it being deleted when a new update is released. Universe Sandbox will never delete anything that's stored in My Documents.
