Galaxies seems differents
« on: August 06, 2017, 09:10:02 AM »
Hi ! I have a problem : Well, when i want to add a galaxy like " Andromeda ", the galaxy is not as beautiful as the Galaxies Collision in the simulations. What does it mean ? How can i have a good galaxy with beautiful forms, etc... ?  :-\  :P

Thank you,
Roux.

Proper galaxy models have not yet been added to the game. The devs are aware of this and it is a planned feature. Before the implementation, they will unfortunately all resemble disorganised blobs.

But why these galaxies (of the Galaxies Collision Map) are better than mine ? And there isn't the Mily Way... Look the screen !

I honestly don't know the answer to that question. I've just quoted what the devs have said:
Quote
We know that galaxies in Universe Sandbox ² could use some love, and we plan to give them the love they deserve soon. Their overall appearance will get an overhaul, and they’ll no longer resemble jumbled, generic galaxies.
It may have something to do with dark matter that is displayed in your galaxy and the interactions it has on its shape that hasn't been fully implemented. This is just me taking a guess, however.

Yes, but the question is: why, when I open the pre-made map named "Galaxies Collision", the galaxies implanted in the map in question are much more beautiful than those that are added? How did they manage to make the galaxies so beautiful on their map? (The creator of the simulation)

I haven't responded to you because I didn't want to speculate. However, I personally see little use for the devs implementing the galaxy model in the simulation "Galaxies Collision" when they are already developing a better model, which uses dark matter to achieve perhaps a more accurate simulation.

I believe the "better looking" model in the pre-made simulation is the older one, and the new model is being worked on. It doesn't look as good yet, but I would seek to believe they have chosen the latter one to keep around in the "Add" tab because it is part of their foundation for the new model. Perhaps, there's something the models in the "Galaxies Collision" simulation that can't do where the new ones will be able to do. They don't need to keep the old model around when the new one is already being developed and on its way.
