Title: Multiple Star Systems
Post by: karakris on August 01, 2011, 10:39:57 AM
I am having trouble setting- up mutiple Star Systems

This particular one is a nightmare.

I am gonna Post the Spec. here - leaving out the Planets.

Mu System – The “Dragon System”
Complex Star cluster – 3 main Stars and 2 “micro-stars”.
Type K1 Orange – 600,240 x Earth Mass
Surface @ 4,500 degrees celsius
Type F2 Yellow-White – 380,490 x Earth Mass
Surface @ 6,000 degrees celsius
Type G4 Yellow – 180,320 x Earth Mass
Surface @ 5,500 degrees celsius
Type A8 White – 0.28 x Earth Mass
Surface @ 9,100 degrees celsius
Inclination - 30 degress to the Ecliptic ( orbit ) of the other three
Type A2 White – 0.19 x Earth Mass
Surface @ 8,500 degrees celsius
Inclination - 120 degree to the Ecliptic ( orbit ) of the other three

7 Planets in orbit around the Barycentre of three main Stars, at normal to their orbits.
1 Planet in orbit around the Barycentre of the three man Stars, at 60 degrees to their orbits.
3 Asteroid Belts in orbit around the Barycentre.
1 Gas Ring on the outside, in orbit around the Barycentre.

I am sking if anyone knows how to create this - as it is a bit beyond me.

microstars? I think those are impossible to show in UniSand.

1. These "microstars" are physically impossible.
2. Stars are measured in solar masses, not earth masses. Earth masses are very difficult to read.

I will need to change this - point taken

The Minimum KNOWN size of a White Dwarf is 0.17 times Solar Mass

So these should read as 0.28 Solar Mass, 0.19 Solar Mass

This would then give -

Omega D = 0.28 x 332,950 = 93,226 x Earth Mass

Omega E = 0.19 x 332,950 = 63,260 x Earth Mass

However -  for Consistency with all the other Survey Reports,
I have always given Stellar Masses in Earth Mass figures.

You can create "stars" that emit light with those specific masses (although they may not save correctly).

Just set the mass, then turn on the light, and set the texture and color.

Does that help?
