I'm sorry that people are running into crashes and startup issues.
I'll be releasing a new build of Universe Sandbox to fix many of the crashes that people are experiencing no later than the evening of Monday, May 2 (within the next 60 hours of when I posted this).
Thanks to everyone who has purchased. It's really appreciated.

Any chance of a beta fix earlier than that?

Sounds great Dan thank you. It ran well for me for quite awhile although I kept crashing out. After the last crash I havent been able to get past the splash screen before a crash report box comes up. The time I did spend in the simulation was awesome, very interesting stuff there. I love sandbox games to begin with, but this is right up there with some of the best. Looking forward to the fixes after a great tease session of a few hours. Thank you for the update.

ohhh k.... i have not even gotton the chance to play because of the steam thing poping up then disappering in 2 seconds. i just glad that there is going to be a fix

Not to bump in, but there's still the two Mimas when you go in the moon section for adding.

I believe your issue is a configuration problem on your computer and not something I can fix. Although I want to help you fix the problem, nonetheless.

Thanks for the reminder Naru. I'll fix that in the update.

I'm committed to helping solve the crash and startup issues that some users are having. And if Monday's fix doesn't work for you, I'll keep working until it does.

Dan,
I just wanted to say, Great Game/Sim/Sandbox. Like many others have posted, I have waited a long time for something just like this. Great job! I will loose a LOT of time in it ;D
I am very I purchased the Premium version, and I am happy to have paid for a great application. Keep up the great development.

So im not the only one having problems. Great to hear this is getting fixed 8)

How often do you release updates for this game? I can't wait for proper Black hole simulation.

Glad to hear that my problem might be fixed by a single, encompassing update.
Was so disheartened seeing it crash after only a couple hours of play, can't wait for the fix.

Updates have averaged about one a month over the last year. However, look for a couple of crash issues updates over the next week.

This update has been released (about 7 hours ago).

Ya it is also out on steam. You propably just missed it because it was pretty small and steam doesn't talk about any updates on recent news ;).

Seems to have improved my start up crash as I am now able to enter the simulation. Did have one crash during usage but looks like Dan is already on top of it with work on another patch. Its not happening very frequently at the moment, I can use the simulation for an hour or two so its great to poke around with. Great sandbox simulation. I'm really enjoying this title.

Fixed my instant crash problem on Steam. Game seems to run fine now, great game too.

still having that problem and i did see the update but i didnt work for me

I've downloaded the newest patch and I have just a small comment.
Maybe I am not the "prime example" of this, but the number on a dust multiplier slider does not influence the speed drastically for me. I keep it at 3.5 and it works fine (so the popping up dust multiplier of every load is not maybe necessary so much?)
The only problem I have encountered is in combination of these two things:
Accuracy mode set to Accurate (RK4)
and an attempt of sending a Light Pulse at that point.
It drops the framerate drastically, and starts slowing down more and more.
The particle multiplier didn't influence the slowdown.
If a Light Pulse is sent with Normal accuracy mode there is not such an issue (even though I had Dust on, Shadow on dust on, Glow on and dust multiplier set to 3.5), even if after sending out the Light Pulse the mode is moved to Accurate.
(hope this helps :) and doesn't troll too much )
