Univision Song Contest V
... It's that time of year!
Welcome back to the Univision Song Contest! This time around, we're in Saelunavvk, the capital and largest city of Solea. Last edition, Solea won the contest with Owl City's song, Gold. The BBC of Wyverncliff mentioned the potential for a change in scenery, and you definitely got it! What's in store for you, our viewers and participants, here in Solea? And where will we go next? That's up to you, Universalis.

The Soleani National Broadcast Network and the Univision Broadcasting Union are working jointly together to run the contest throughout this edition. Submit your entries to atomic7732 via PM, by Friday, October 10 at 00:00 UTC (Thursday, 20:00 EDT).

- Removed the "Avoid vulgar songs", if I'm going to be honest..I want to send a really vulgar song and I don't really care about this now that the off-site jury is gone and the contest is well over a year old :P

It's a kind of short warning, I won't be home for most of tomorrow before around probably 20-21 UTC, I don't know who were asked or decided when it should be, but I would've liked it at another time, maybe moved to Sunday or 2-3 hours later on Saturday. So I don't really know if it can be moved or..

I can't find any info on when we did the other Synchtubes in relation to when the songs were released, but I remember talking about when it should be at least some days in advance, but this time I heard nothing about it and then seeing the time get posted the day before was a bit surprising. The important thing isn't really when the songs are released, but when you announce the time and if you let people discuss the time so we can get as many to watch as possible. I didn't know if that had been done.

I've voted, but I do think the deadline was ridiculously early. W/e I know you wanted to present results on Saturday but this whole edition has seemed very brief.

Personally I'm fine with the deadline, I like not waiting too long for the results and I think I've voted 0-2 days after Synchtube in our editions, but if people have irl stuff that has obstructed them from voting I don't have a problem with extending the deadline.

Well me and yqt (well atomic too sorta) are used to having month long contests, as in they start on the first of each month and end on the last day with results. So this is really fast paced, I had no problems with voting but I know that after two weeks a lot of people still waited till the last day to vote. So...

I think it works a bit like homework. If you give people 3 days deadline most complete it the day before. If you give them 2 weeks they also complete the day before. I can understand giving people maybe a week or so, so most people can squeeze it in somewhere (in any case in the weekend) if they have a tight schedule, and if anyone needs more than that it's probably best to just talk to them and agree to set the deadline a bit past that.
Making videos with interviews on the songs and such was a cool idea and also presenting the results in a series of vids was a cool idea but I don't think dragging the voting out longer than necessary makes it better. It's nice to see the results while you can still remember the songs well. :P

Let me explain what's going on to the masses. Apparently since Dar (and now atomic and yqt) think me gagnant (and possibly my brother) are the same person, here's what's going to happen:
Their penalties:
me and pm are banned for one year
gagnant will never be allowed to participate again
gagnants votes and songs will be disqualified
Here's what I am going to do:
Because fuck you guys, wyverncliff is dead.
I will be leaving this forum, because you guys are penalizing someone other than me for something you are not right about. I don't want to be involved with this anymore.

Oh I did vote on time. Yqt didn't because he has college and is obsessed with hypixel server. Gagnant is an irl friend who I invited to take over shmupland after shmoopy disappeared. (or he's me created only to give me victories BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
