Map games, yay!
This game is, in general, played like Map War 2.
TeamsIn an attempt to mix up map games a little... the type of game this is depends on how many people join. If the amount of people planning to play (let's call them entrants) is odd or less than 6, each player plays on their own, and can forge alliances and rivalries as they wish. There will be no joint victories in this mode. If there is an even number greater than six entrants, each player will be
randomly paired (via online dice server or something) with one other player. They will not be able to attack their partner throughout the course of the game, and they will both win a joint victory, given they are not eliminated.
Public alliances are
not allowed between pairs.
BuildingsBuildings in Quick Map Game will be slightly different from those seen in MW2. Each province has the same amount of available spaces to upgrade upon. In any province, two types of upgrades are possible. Production upgrades will be marked in green, and will stack up above the blue line. Defense upgrades, marked in red, will sink below the blue line, increasingly downward as upgraded. At any one time, there may be only one type of building in existence on a single province, with the exception that an extra amount of resources are used per turn to support both types at once. The costs for each combination will be described below.
Calcs and stuffProvinces produce a base of 3 resources per turn.
Attacking an enemy province costs twice the price of the province's production, unless defenses have been upgraded.
Defense multiplier for level 1 upgrade - 1.5x
defense multiplier for level 2 upgrade - 2x
defense multiplier for level 3 upgrade - 3x
production multiplier for level 1 upgrade - 2x
production multiplier for level 2 upgrade - 4x
production multiplier for level 3 upgrade - 8x
cost for level 1 upgrades - 10 res
cost for level 2 upgrades - 50 res
cost for level 3 upgrades - 100 res
For building both types of upgrades on a single province, refer to the cost chart below:
0 1 2 3
0 5 10 50 100
1 10 50 100 250
2 50 100 250 500
3 100 250 500 1000
Sea ProvincesSea provinces are marked differently than in MW2, they are filled in, rather than a small box located in the province. To distinguish sea more easily, a player's color is used in 50% brightness to fill the space (simply divide individual RG. values by 2). The blue boxes in sea provinces can be filled with either green for a single level production bonus, or alternatively marked with red for a single level defense bonus. Normal costs and benefits apply.
EnteringTo apply for entry, simply post your intent to play and choose a color (optionally note your sea province color if you would like). Remember, the number of entrants decides the game, so once entries are closed teams will be decided, if applicable, and you can then place yourself on the map wherever you like.
