That was ONE of the "realistic" things I was wondering about.

Any ACTUALLY HABITABLE Planet must have something similar -

As it MUST have both Rotaion AND a Magnetic Field - to produce the effects
which protect the surface of the Planet from Cosmic Rays and the "Solar Wind".

Just a thought - should there not be something similar in the Southern Hemisphere ??

Yeap, it should. This was just the prototype sim. I actually want to tweak the lights, and I'll copy to the south pole and publish the sim here and on SkyDrive.

It's more complicated, but it can be done. I'm just lazy these days. :P So locking seems to be the answer to an easy "life", but nevertheless can be done.

Here check bellow a video I've made just for you with a dynamic solar system. I've placed the lights in the wrong place, but the idea is the same.

But I just realize you meant the light 3D, not the system. Well.... no you can't. :P

I guess with the system locked, one can place hundreds of minuscule dust particles in there, above the lights in some special way/shape, turn them into objects and then let the light reflect on them. It should give some sort of a 3D nasty appearance.
