You can't really PROVE it's the end of the world/Universe/whatever until that day happens.

Though I am interested in history and love to learn new things. If they think it will happen in 2220 now, then please find an article about it and post it!

The Mayan calender doesn't determine when the universe ends. It only determines when it ends itself. It cannot change gravity, it cannot change electromagnetism, it cannot change anything.

It doesn't matter whether the calender ends in 2020, 2012 or 2016. I wonder what would happen if people started predicting doomsdays every time our calender ends once a year.

There's only one way to prove it wrong; wait and see. But the burden of proof is always on the one who claims, like Russel's Teapot. And until it has been proven that the calender affects the universe, there is no reason to believe in it.
Ok, the word proven is a bit powerful, but until there is valid evidence, there is no reason to assume it.

Since I see no evidence for any doomsday, I don't believe in particular doomsdays. I believe a comet or asteroid might hit the Earth one day, but I don't know when and have therefore no reason to believe it happens in 2020 or 2012, and I believe that we perhaps could stop the "doomsday" from happening with our technology and science.

i mean they can make a old granny falling the story of the year like its the beginning of the Apocalypse or something just like early this year some dieing ppl died off somthing els other than what they were dieing off

just like my local paper said that this years fireworks display is on Wednesday the 5th of November i mean what calendar were they looking at lol last years

pritty much proves that they cant even read a calender or even know when 1 ends to make such a claim lol!!!!
