Yes if we see spam like ads for products or stuff, please don't respond to it and give it extra attention, just report it.

Although I believe if it's legitimate spam the forum should have ways to shut this kind of thing down.

If by that you mean people who act like spammers, then I think simply talking to them and reasoning with them can shut it down.
