nature will continue on without us, it's up to us to keep ourselves around. all the carbon and such that we've used will just go back into the earth and be used by future intelligent species. we'll probably only be known by the next intelligent species as a mass extinction with an unknown cause

And of course, any hurricanes or big storms that churn up the Gulf or the gulf shores will only magnify the problem. :P

If a disaster happens in the north pole seas, it has the potential to make the Deepwater Horizon look like a minor incident in terms of the impact.

@Darv: If any artifacts of our civilization remain, whatever is the heir of the Earth might be able to conclude something.

Those tarballs are showing up again on Louisiana beaches after Isaac. :P

A stronger hurricane would churn up the waters even more, and Isaac was a weak (or moderate?) category 1 storm. Although the fact that it stalled in the area could be part of it.

Human definition:
1.greedy creatures who destroy the enviroment for money

2.Only creatures that PAY to live on earth

3.Creatures that steal Mother Nature's Oil
This.

if we used all available oil in the world, the earth would only become slightly hotter than the cretaceous.

And then we'd have no oil. Wow how pointless was that.

kol, getting natural gas, oil, and coal from titan would probably cost far more than nearly anyone would be willing to pay.

People wouldn't be willing to pay the massive prices to get fossil fuels from Titan that don't even exist there, anyway.
