We are against CISPA
« on: April 28, 2012, 03:32:43 PM »
"CISPA would let companies bypass all existing privacy law, spying on online communications and handing that data to the government without a judge or jury every getting involved."

CISPA is the next incarnation of SOPA and is a clear violation of the 4th Amendment of the United States Constitution. However that didn't stop the House of Representative from approving it.

What is CISPA?

Microsoft originally supported CISPA, but has now changed their position:

The frustrating thing is that the people behind these scary bills are absolutely determined to get some version of their tyranny pushed through eventually. One gets shot down and another pops up. And they have nearly infinite resources to keep pushing this stuff.
Wash DC signed an international treaty (ACTA) promising to get more internet tyranny passed.

This battle is going to keep going and going, bill after bill. Eventually they will get their way and crush internet freedom & privacy.

When that happens, things will get really ugly.
The great cyberwar of the 21st century has yet to boil to full strength.

Governments by nature desire to control everything possible.
The internet is one of the last bastions of freedom.
Those in control would just love to shut that down.
But it's not going to happen without a fight.
