Hello everyone. I have created this post here where you can upload your saved custom modded rocky & gas giant planets & stars. Please do not move, lock or delete this topic, and always make sure it is accessible to all users on this forum. Thank you.

That's me:

Hi Luke. I am your subscriber and I have created two custom modded rocky planets. One is black with a black atmosphere, and the other one is white with a white atmosphere. The surface temperature is 20 degrees Celsius.

Those two .ubox files are not simulations - they are rocky planets, so please download them to your "Bodies" folder.

Download them here:

Name: Black_ATM

Name: White_ATM

How do you change the propertiesby the files, anyway? When I open them (even with a code editing program) it just comes out as a garbled mess...what am I missing?

You need to install Notepad++, to the regular notepad. You also need to download and install 7-zip and open .ubox files with 7-zip. Open the .json file inside the .ubox file with Notepad++. You need to edit the values that contains color. For example, you can edit all the values of the entry named "AtmosphereColor". Then save your changes and close both the .json and .ubox files.

Awesome, thank you. I was trying to open it with Notepad++ but I would've never guessed to open the ubox file with 7zip and use Notepad++ on a file inside that. Thank you.

Here is one I made I never quite decided on a name but anyway I just modified Venus to be how it (possibly) was before the runaway greenhouse effect. I changed the Atmosphere to be more Earthlike, added water, and also added climate. The Climate is a little buggy though as its intended for Earth.

I really like your Venus-Earth climate mode combo. It really looks and works well together.

Thanks, I only wish the climate sim was able to simulate the effect of the Venusian day and how slowly it rotates. I imagine it would be somewhat similar to how it models tidally locked worlds, except ofcourse there would be an actual day/night cycle. Just really slow lol, but it would be interesting to see in comparison, I have no idea what a rotation like that might result in, but I bet it'd be pretty strange.

I've tried to do Titan with Earth Climate, but its not possible it seems thanks to the water freezing bug, every time I add the water boom its flash frozen lol. Hope that gets fixed this update!

Me too, would like to properly be able to simulate tidally locked planets. When adding water on tidily locked planets, the side facing the star, the water would evaporate and on the dark side, the water would freeze. However, in the planetary habitable zone, the water would remain liquid.

The developers should do more work to improve the simulation functionalities in Universe Sandbox 2 for properly simulating tidily locked rocky planets and gas giants.

Agreed that would be awesome! Maybe they will allow us to mod these things into the game ourselves, I am sure I could probably figure out how to mod the climate simulator to properly do tidal locking and different rotations.

It would also be good to simulate tsunami waves when asteroids fall into oceans, rather than having a fire blob that makes a small patch of the ocean temporarily disappear when tiny asteroids fall.

However, it is perfectly normal for large asteroids to cause the oceans to retreat and evaporate when the fall into the ocean because large asteroids of 1KM or more would heat up the rocky planet's crust from deep within the mantle.

Hi Luke. Today I have create an awesome 20 planets. I have created those objects for you to congratulate you on your amazing videos and your 3000 subscribers.

When you use my 20 planets, please mention my name as "Cesare Vesdani" as a gratitude for the work I have done for you.

Please note that planets with modded red, green, blue and yellow values have colored water. If the planet has a pure red, green, blue or yellow, the color of water can also be modded as well. For example, pure red water can exist if the value is set to (Red 255, Green 0, Blue 0), respectively.

Thank you.

Thank you so much for the Zimbabwe gas giant.

Do you have any lime green objects from Neptunian Guy's Lime System?

Nope - my graphics card broke - or rather burned down

I bought a new one a few weeks ago - now I need to wait for it to come.

That's great.

Why did the old graphics card burn out? What's the reason?

Never overclock your processor, graphics card, hard disks or RAM. Overclocking is the process of forcing extra voltage which causes your PC's hardware components to overheat. As a result, is causes the lifespan of your hardware to become much shorter, so your overclocked hardware will burn out and fail.

When you get your new graphics card, please do not overclock it, otherwise it too will burn out. Instead, if you want to get more power to properly run Universe Sandbox 2, buy a new Desktop PC, with an 8 Core processor for the best performance.

My new PC has the following hardware requirements:

AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
8 Core Processor - 3.6GHz
2X 8TB Hard Drives.
2X Blu-Ray RW drives
16GB RAM

At least you need to have a general purpose PC with at least an 8 Core processor and 16GB RAM to properly run Universe Sandbox 2, and create large simulations with lots of objects.

Good luck with your new hardware.

Hi folks. I will post all of my custom modded objects and simulations here on this post rather than discord. I have created this post only for uploading simulations and custom modded objects. Please understand that. If you have any request that you wish to make for me to create any simulations or modded objects for you, please post your requests down here on this forum.

Thank you.
