Nice. I thought out something slightly along the same lines. It makes more sense to make numbers like that, but it might be harder to distinguish them if you read quickly.

Having numbers as marks instead of glyphs makes some sense actually.

i think they should change because i'd like to be able to count in base 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, and so on as easily as i can count in base 10.

Well, I see your point, but it's a typical conservative argument that we should just let everything be as it is.
Imo we should change everything to be the most rational way possible. All of our units should be changed to SI-units. One generation will have some troubles, but it would really benefit ALL the future generations which won't have to live with all of the trash we invented centuries or millennia ago, when we didn't know anything about the world and weren't systematic or consistent with the units etc. we invented.
