Actually, Black holes never die. They continue to grow infinitely. Eventually (And I mean 9999999999999999999999999999999 years eventually) the universe will be one giant black hole, and that's if the Universe hasn't already collapsed by then.
A black hole requires a source of mass to grow, which it attracts inside its event horizon. They can only grow infinitely if they always have a massive source of mass to grow from (which would then have to be infinite).
Black holes are also predicted to emit
Hawking radiation, so if they don't have an infinite source of mass to drain from forever, they will eventually evaporate. Small black holes will evaporate faster, while massive black holes in the center of many galaxies will evaporate extremely slowly.
The universe is also expanding at an accelerating rate, and if that continues, eventually clusters of galaxies, galaxies, black holes etc. will all become isolated from each other.
