I think that a chat in the Universe Sandbox forum or even in the simulator itself is a nice and usefull idea: if there are people online in the forum, ideas could be discussed faster (however they will not be visible to all the users unless one of the "chatters" will post the general idea in a post). Moreover if the forum chat is linked to the simulator the Universe Sandbox user could ask information to other users of US or of the forum in real time contiuing to use US. Probably the chat will have to be divided in different channels. (i hope that the last phrase is comprehensible $:-\$ ).

Sounds fine, I don't see any problems in it.
Except it will take time to implement, but everything will do that and that should be Dan's decision. I don't need this, but it's a fine idea that is useful.

Now to ask informaton, you have to go to the forum, post, and wait for a reply. With the chat into universe sandbox you can avoid all this passages by asking directly other users on the forum or on universe sandbox itself.

It's a chat on the forum itself (if it is possible: this forum is made with a standard "engine"). This chat will be used by both forum users (when they are online) and universe sandbox users.

Well a chat like the games online (eg. World of worcraft or similars; just google it) would be better but it isn't compulsory.
