Ok, made a nation. They should add religion to NationStates. Almost 6% of deaths are caused by Acts of God. That's kinda monotheism-based thinking. They should change it to Divine Forces for polytheists or just remove it altogether.

What is your nation called?

Also you can add a national religion when you reach some amount of citizens, I think it's 500 million or 1 billion.

No, that means 6% of your peoples' leading causes of death are because they did Acts of God.

Like, you know, trapping bombs to their chests and killing themselves.

Kinda. Like they sacrifice themselves for a God and other primitive religious acts. One way to decrease this is to increase Godlessness (and therefor decrease religiousness).

an 'act of god' is damage or death by a natural event e.g, flooding, fire, lightning, ect.

lol, thought about that. Once, I even wondered if it meant God just divinely strangling someone. But it should be acts of nature, not God.

Thanks, tho.

Kol this new issue 353

The Issue

An IT firm organized an unusual race between a carrier pigeon toting a flash drive and The Land of the Red Rainbow's fastest internet provider. The bird easily beat the internet, prompting a debate about internet speeds.

The Debate

"This is horribly embarrassing!" cries the pixelated image of popular online vlogger Jazz Dubois. Two and a half minutes of buffering later she continues, "Our internet is the slowest in The United Pacific States. Our system needs a massive overhaul. We need to crank it up! Fiber optic connections all across The Land of the Red Rainbow! Imagine the increase in productivity. Imagine how much more connected we'll all be. It'll be well worth the cost, Mikkel Sikkel."

This is the position your government is preparing to adopt.

"You've got to be joking!" scoffs your Minister of Finance, Ella Utopia. "The government have far more important problems at hand than dealing with trivial matters such as the internet speed. The people of The Land of the Red Rainbow have access to the internet. That's far better than most of the world. Leave the internet providers to run themselves and get back to the business of running the country."

Accept

"Well, this certainly is eye-opening," exclaims amateur birdwatcher, Akira Wong, with a pair of binoculars dangling from his neck. "Here we are mucking about with our inefficient technology and the birds have us beat! Clearly we need to convert all our inefficient internet into bird-based-broadband! We'll need flocks upon flocks of pigeons and a tight training schedule, but we can do it."

Accept

"We won't have a future unless we improve police numbers and rebuild the military," says General Elaine Utopia. "Oh, it's all well and good to have your fancy education and your nice cars, until some tinpot dictatorship decides to invade. And don't pretend like there aren't any of them in our region. Our number one priority has to be security."

Accept

I'm the only one in my region.

To hell with military!

I'm not sure I understand what regional influence means, and what it's status represents. Can someone help me?

In a region with more nations a nation with a high influence costs more to eject and/or ban from the region. A nation with higher influence that is a region's delegate will have more points to spend when banning or ejecting (i think).

Puppets are nations that you don't focus on as much as your own special nation, I guess. No need to argue about it.

So I checked Darvincia's issues today...

"Thomas Obama, head of Darvincia's chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous, says that drunk drivers need help. "Alcoholism is a nasty thing, a disease. The government has to help these poor souls to avoid the temptations of liquor, and wine, and beer, and hard cider, and brandy, and?" His eyes get a glazed far off look, "Where was I? Oh right, we have to help these people, not imprison them.""
