Trouble putting binary stars system in a galaxy...
« on: July 27, 2011, 01:19:46 AM »
Hi everyone,

I m trying to put a binary star system into the Milkyway Galaxy...
Like i creat a simulation, put the milkyway as the middle.
Then i put the stars that i did creat a solar system in it...single stars are good

BUT...if i put binary stars systems...like 2 stars separate by 4,92 AU...once i save, close uni sandbox and re-open it...they are MERGE together...lol Is there a way to creat a local group of stars with binaries? or do i need to creat an other simulation+ adding a single black hole with the mass of the center of the milkyway? to make it work and having the group of star orbiting the center?...It would be like a huge solar system then?

Its because of an error in positioning stuff when you reload that when something is far out it doesn't get put at the spot where is should, it's instead rounded to a nearby number.

Universe Sandbox has trouble simulating solar systems that are super far apart because of decimal precision issues.

Are they 492 AU or 4.92 AU apart?

Sorry that you're having trouble with this.

AHA! I think that might be the problem with Revoluta's moons!

If i remember, it was around 8 AU...but i guess its a really small distance between 2 stars compare to the galaxy lol
