No, I just choose any random color. Here's my tip, in Paint (or Paint.net) choose any random color with any random lightness. Make sure your colors are darkish... in fact, my style requires that most of the time, make the Islamic nations darker, and the Catholic nations lighter, indicating infidel status or not.

Anyways, I made this awesome ATL which is made awesome because of the awesomely awesome paper texture that makes this look vintagely awesome, which is awesome.

Yes, that sure is Nazi Germany pwning Europe and USSR pwning China and India, Korea pwning Thailand, Burma and that sort of stuff, as well as Phillipines and Japan, with it's puppet Manchukuo. By the way, the reason USA (AHEM I MEAN SSA) is red is since it's Soviet, and an ally of the USSR.

By the way, Spain got spliced in half, with Vichy Spain existing now, with original Spain being a puppet of Vichy France.

And that orange color in Brazil is Rio de Janeiro, a revolutionary state.

To me it looks like the countries are too. Look at the USSR, a small uneven fold in the paper runs down it through Kazakhstan, and the central parts of Eastern Siberia also look darker than the rest.

While the texture looks good, the borders doesn't look all that good and it's really a cliche ASB scenario. The Nazis would invade the USSR, the United States was greatly opposed to communism (unless a large revolution happened, though that would still be unlikely), Korea would get invaded by the Japanese again unless the Chinese intervened (and that Korea would be weak against the SEA nations), Spain would very unlikely be invaded, and the revolutionary state in Brazil would get controlled by Brazil again due to alliances with the U.S. and several other Latin countries. It really doesn't make sense that Korea almost controls all of Eastern China when they were a small power, unless the Soviet Union helped. The Italians would've invaded Ethiopia already prior to World War II because of the rich oils there. Canada and the other British states would've helped Britain against the Axis.

You should've also used a 1939 map since using the present day map really doesn't make the scenario look good.

Overall, the map looks good but it really has a ASB taste in it. I give it a 6/10.

Naru, who on Earth cares about realism in an ATL? Isn't that what an ATL is, alternative history? No one will put real history (or should) in an ATL.

Last time I checked, realism does not equate to actual history. It just means that there aren't endless impossible situations in a world.
