Map which I'm still working on, might be mostly ASB. The POD is when the American Revolutionary War starts in 1765 and ends in 1772, however the war was a fail to the Americans and they are still in British control. Even though the revolution was a fail, many other countries struggled to declare their independence, too. One of the most known successful wars was the Canadian War of Independence which started in 1796 and ended in 1810.
Meanwhile, Cuba managed to declare independence from the Spanish and began to invade other islands nearby. The Europeans didn't mind much, as they thought a unified state which controlled the sea was good enough. However, since Cuba conquered so many islands, their armies and navies were comparable to the Netherlands. When they began to notice, Cuba invaded Mexico on 1892 until 1901. This established control on the Mexican state. Cuba by then established alliances in Latin America to promise from any further attacks from the state.
Eighty years later, however, Cuba wanted more land. Meanwhile, the Latin American countries were in chaos. They had civil wars, wars with other countries, deceases, lack of food, corrupted governments, poverty, and other problems. It was easy to attack the countries, so in 1981, they attacked Brazil and Argentina, starting the Great War. Canada joined the war later and called her allies, which was the Soviet Union, Austria-Hungary, France, the U.K., Prussia, and the Holy Roman Empire. The war might even get more tense, as there has been rumors of a Sino-Cuban alliance.
This is heavily based on a fanfiction story.
Note for the alliance map: The blue color is the "Alliance" and the red color is the "Havana Pact". Darker colors show friendly relations. White countries are neutral.
