UniverseSandBox Crashes

Hi,

I bought the game during it's sale on Steam, pretty excited as I didn't know about it before, and got really interested when I first saw it.
Sadly, I can't get it to work.

I've followed the sticky, tried everything there, but to no avail.

I'm not sure it's a startup problem like described in other topics, I've actually managed to get it to run, if only for a few minutes. The first time I managed to start it, the Sun was completely white, and had a white box around it, which disappeared upon zooming in. Upon zooming out a bit though, the game crashed.

A different time I managed to get into the options, and it actually ran longer, only crashing again when I went out of the options and into the simulation.

Now though, the game crashes upon startup.

I've tried checking integrity, and reinstalling multiple times.

If it helps, I could send the logs.

Have you submitted any of your crashes?
(and if so what email address did you type in)

Otherwise... please send me an email with the logs and the link to this post (so I know what they are referring to).

That's a really strange problem and unfortunately the logs don't clearly indicate where the problem is.

How exactly does it crash? Does it give you a message? Does the window just disappear? Do you get a window asking to submit the crash? Or does it just freeze?

I'm curious if it crashes at the same place every time. Can you try restarting you computer, run it again, and then copy and past the last few lines of the new Sandbox Log and Engine Log files here?

It usually crashes at startup.
Often I don't even get to see the main screen, I see the small loading icon, and then get the crash message.
"Universe Sandbox has stopped working", that message.
Very rarely I get further than the loading screen, and actually get to see the menu, but it crashes after a second or two.

The error screen drag you see is because I got the error message on my left screen, and the game on my right one.

I didn't know how many lines you wanted, so I took the last 10 of each log file.

This is a .NET 4 issue and unrelated to Universe Sandbox.

I had done that before, but I tried doing it again, twice.
After the first clean and reinstall, it still crashed but I didn't pay attention to the crash details.
After the second clean and reinstall, I expanded the details, and the problem signature is different than last time.

Another screenshot to elaborate:


Edit: Reinstalling the game now.

Edit2: Reinstalled the game. It ran for all of 3 seconds, before crashing.
The Problem Signature shows: 'Fault Module Name: clr.dll' again.
Going to try to remove and reinstall .NET 4 again and hope for the best.

Edit3: Manually removed everything I could find from .NET 4, restarted the computer, reinstalled again, and now I'm back at the crash report which says: 'Fault Module Name: Awesomium.dll'

Edit4: After inspecting the logs, I noticed the Engine Log was showing quite a few errors (often the same). I'm going to send you an email with the log in it.

You getting this error:
DirectX error : -2005530516
Which can be caused by a number of things.

Do you have any custom settings for this program under "NVIDIA Control Panel"?
Try resetting them to default.

Are you running any programs that modify DirectX settings or custom 3D glasses drivers?
Disable or exit from these programs and try running Universe Sandbox again.

And make sure that you have tried step 3.25:
