Asteroid Mesh
« on: February 12, 2009, 09:54:59 AM »
;) Dan, could you have like 2 or 3 random meshes for asteroids and small objects (singular) that don't have enough mass? If you made 5 you could do this:

1: 1000-400 km diameter objects, oval ish with a few bumps, i.e. Pallas
2:400-200 km diameter objects, more obliquity and some bumps
3:200-100 km, alot of objiquity, more bumps
4:100-50km, alot of obliquity, alot of bumps
5: - 50km, same but i.e. eros

an maybe 2 for each of the five categories a few updates later, and 2 more meshes, one for "binary", i.e. touatis is  more like a rubble double, haha  ;D. And the other for a rubble pile.
And have odds for each one like 95/100 singular, 3/100 rubble pile, 2/100 rubble double  ;D. For example.

I want the ones in blue within the next or the one after update.

That's a great idea. It would make everything feel more realistic.

And thank you for being so direct with when you hope to see this feature. :)

The Touatis asteroid that you mention:

I've added the idea to the list.
